Biomass-Derived Carbon Materials in Heterogeneous Catalysis: A Step towards Sustainable Future

Biomass-derived carbons are emerging materials with a wide range of catalytic properties, such as large surface area and porosity, which make them ideal candidates to be used heterogeneous catalysts supports. Their unique physical chemical their tunable surface, inertness, hydrophobicity, along being environmentally friendly cost effective, give an edge over other catalysts. The biomass-derived carbon compatible reactions including organic transformations, electrocatalytic reactions, photocatalytic reactions. This review discusses the uses produced from biomass in realm catalysis, highlighting different types derived that potential catalysts, importance properties preparation methods summarized. Furthermore, this article presents relevant work carried out recent years where contribution field catalysis. challenges prospects catalysis also discussed.
